White to Black Curriculum
About this Course
Throughout this course, these Modules will cover Karate lessons from 5 Elements Shotokan Karate, daily Inspiration to keep everyone going, history of how Shotokan became the modern style it is today, and the full curriculum that is offered at 5 Elements from White Belt until 4th Degree Black Belt.
Benefits
Students will be able to practice Kata's, techniques, and drills from home to improve their experience and enhance their training in between attending classes.
Course Modules
Shotokan History and Terminology
The story of Shotokan Karate has shown its evolution into many variations and ultimately into the modern style that we practice today.
This section will cover the break down of techniques and forms in Japanese. Students will be able to read through and understand everything in Japanese and the corresponding English translation.
Technique Breakdown
This section will explain the breakdown of all techniques that will be demonstrated throughout the White to Black Curriculum. Stances, blocks, kicks, etc. Use this section if clarification is needed on how to do a technique.
White to Yellow
Yellow to Green Stripe
This Module will cover the requirements that a Yellow belt would need to learn to test for their Green Stripe belt. This section will break down the Kata, board breaks, self-defense, and technique requirements for the test.
Students need to train for at least 3 months after their last test. If asked, students need to have the full ability to perform former testing requirements.
Green Stripe to Green
This Module will cover the requirements that a Green Stripe belt would need to learn to test for their Green belt. This section will break down the Kata, board breaks, self-defense, and technique requirements for the test.
Students need to train for at least 3 months after their last test. If asked, students need to have the full ability to perform former testing requirements.
Green to Blue Stripe
This Module will cover the requirements that a Green belt would need to learn to test for their Blue Stripe belt. This section will break down the Kata, board breaks, self-defense, and technique requirements for the test.
Students need to train for at least 3 months after their last test. If asked, students need to have the full ability to perform former testing requirements.
Blue Stripe to Blue
This Module will cover the requirements that a Green Stripe belt would need to learn to test for their Blue belt. This section will break down the Kata, board breaks, self-defense, and technique requirements for the test.
Students need to train for at least 3 months after their last test. If asked, students need to have the full ability to perform former testing requirements.
Blue to Red Stripe
This Module will cover the requirements that a Blue belt would need to learn to test for their Red Stripe belt. This section will break down the Kata, board breaks, self-defense, and technique requirements for the test.
Students need to train for at least 6 months after their last test. If asked, students need to have the full ability to perform former testing requirements.
Red Stripe to Red
This Module will cover the requirements that a Red Stripe belt would need to learn to test for their Red belt. This section will break down the Kata, board breaks, self-defense, and technique requirements for the test.
Students need to train for at least 6 months after their last test. If asked, students need to have the full ability to perform former testing requirements.
Red to Black Stripe
This Module will cover the requirements that a Red belt would need to learn to test for their Black Stripe belt. This section will break down the Kata, board breaks, self-defense, and technique requirements for the test.
Students need to train for at least 1 year after their last test. If asked, students need to have the full ability to perform former testing requirements.
Black Stripe to 1st Degree Black
This Module will cover the requirements that a Black Stripe belt would need to learn to test for their Black belt. This section will break down the Kata, board breaks, self-defense, and technique requirements for the test.
Students need to train for at least 1 year after their last test. If asked, students need to have the full ability to perform former testing requirements.
Students testing for their Black Belt need to be competent and strong in all previous curriculum. Students can review previous curriculum through the previous modules. Additional lessons and techniques added to this module need to be learned before their black belt test.
