We have been a part of the 5 Elements family for 5 years. Renshi Maeghen coached my daughters to win multiple National gold medals as well as Silvers at the Worlds karate championship. 5 Elements treats their students like family, with encouragement, respect and compassion.

Only Martial Arts studio in Calgary that my wife and I could find that except 3 year olds.(little dragon classes). The location is located on the opposite side of the city as us. Long way to go. From the moment we took our son there to try it out. The place/Maeghen(owner), staff and the instructors were all very welcoming. We felt at home. It felt so right we signed our son up for 6mths unlimited classes that day. We r now coming close to our first of many 6 month of classes. What an amazing difference. The disapline of listening, practicing, skills, cordination and the fun our son is having going. All done by positive reinforcement with a kind and gentle nudge. As a parent I could not be more proud or ask for a better environment for my son to learn and grow in!

I started taking their fitness kickboxing in December and loved it. Since then my 8 year old son and I have also started in their family karate and are so enjoying it!!! And my 3 year old daughter is also doing their little dragons classes. Their instructors are great and the friendly energy and vibe are so wonderful. Maeghen (the owner) has been such a positive bundle of energy to deal with and clearly loves what she does, and adores all of her clients and kids! I would recommend it to anyone who is thinking about starting in Martial arts, or just looking for some fun fitness classes!!!

I had the pleasure of bringing my son to the April 18th open style tournament. Initially, I was somewhat apprehensive since my son didn't belong to the school on whether the event would be fair. To our surprise we found a very welcoming environment that was positive and professional. As parents we are always looking for opportunities in developing our children's competitive abilities and 5 Elements is very good at providing the encouragement and confidence building children require. Kudos to Maeghen and her team and we look forward to attending future events.

I have been with 5 Elements Martial Arts in Calgary for 6 months now and just love everything about their training. I am training in their kickboxing, Muay Thai, Karate, and boxing classes and the instructors they have are exceptional.

If you are looking for a great environment, with friendly/motivated people, and love the opportunity to train and compete (if you want) hard... this is the place for you!

I went to this school for many years, and found the teaching to be top notch. My overall experience was very good. I made some lifelong friends, and I learned an incredible amount. There are significant opportunities to compete, the school having a strong tournament team featuring many recent world champions (as in, these are people whose whose last win wasn't in, say, 1975). However, if there is one thing to be wary of, it's /too much/ competition. You know the saying that martial arts is a lifestyle? At 5 Elements you might find it a little too true. One day you're taking one beginner class a week, the next you're spending more time at the dojo than most people do at a part time job, and spending more money than those people are making. The instructors will expect you to compete, and won't be happy until you do. So go, make full use of instruction from champions, and have fun. But don't let them pressure you into the world of competition. Or you'll be caught in a web that is hard to get out of, and whether you choose to become a champion or sever all ties, you'll find you've spoiled it for yourself.

We had a private family session today with Meaghan today and she was amazing!!! She taught us some amazing self defence techniques and we all had an incredible time. Can’t wait to book more sessions with Meaghan. Thank you!!
